Nevada Congressional Election 2020 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I am proudly pro-life and have worked to protect the lives of the unborn and of vulnerable women my whole life. Parents should have the right to know that their minor daughter is seeking an abortion so they can counsel and support her. This is not possible in Nevada. It is important for women to be able to have a sonogram before they have an abortion so they can make an informed decision. Girls need to be protected from predators, who cover their abuse by forcing the girls to have abortions. Protect the innocent unborn.
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
No Do you support expanding federal funding to support entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
No. The federal deficit is over $22 Trillion. This year alone the federal deficit is projected to add an additional $3.3 Trillion. We must increase the numbers of taxpayers not tax users. We must provide for those we have promised already like Social Security beneficiaries who paid into the system for years. The government through the private Federal Reserve Bank is printing dollars with nothing backing them causing harmful inflation, which hurts especially those on a fixed income.
No Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
The more we regulate campaigns the more people find ways around the laws. Free speech, which includes campaign contributions, should be available to all. I have found in Nevada that campaign contribution reporting and limiting laws hurt non-establishment candidates. They are used to suppress contributions for minor parties and others. The voters are harmed when government limits free speech and that?s what regulating campaign contributions does.
Yes Do you support the protection of government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct?
If public officials, including law enforcement officers, are guilty of misconduct there should be a reasonable way to hold them accountable. One way to do that would be to allow for personal liability in civil lawsuits. We should expect and require the highest level of integrity from our public officials and have laws that hold them to that high standard.
No Do you support increasing defense spending?
One of the Constitutional Responsibilities for the Federal Government is to provide for the common defense. However, when a nation is bankrupt like the United States we cannot increase any spending. In addition the U.S. in military is in over 130 countries around the world. Bring the troops home. Other nations should provide for their own defense not rely on U.S. military to defend them paid for by U.S. taxpayers.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19?
Open up our states and our business so people and businesses can go back to work and take care of themselves. Billions of tax dollars have been lost through fraud for money meant for Covid-19 relief. The Federal Government through the private Federal Reserve Bank is creating trillions of dollars backed by nothing. This is causing harmful inflation which hurts those most vulnerable, those with low incomes and on fixed incomes. We don't know how long the incredible $22 Trillion dollar deficit can be sustained, but not forever.
No Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
No. Ever since the federal government has become involved in education...the education of our children has gone down hill. We need to have local control of education with parents and local elected boards controlling the curriculum and standards. We need to reemphasize basics like teaching reading with phonetics and basic math. We need choice in education so that parents who know and love their children can determine what's best for them...not bureaucrats from the federal government.
No Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
Solar and wind power are very expensive and unreliable. Just look at the blackouts in California. When and if solar and wind power becomes economically feasible it will be adopted and utilized. The United States emits far less greenhouse gases than almost any other industrialized nation. China is the biggest offender with regards to greenhouse gases. Do not punish the American people with higher costs for heating and lighting their homes and driving their cars when China is the real problem. Solar and wind power should not be subsidized by the taxpayers.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
Absolutely not. We are guaranteed in the Bill of Rights the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. In Nevada's Declaration of Rights that includes "for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use..." Only free people have the right to bear arms. This right is a last resort against tyranny. This right is especially critical with all the violence taking place in our country right now. Criminals prefer unarmed victims and statistic prove that to be the case. Those most vulnerable need the Right to Keep and Bear Arms to most.
No Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
No Do you support requiring businesses to provide paid medical leave during public health crises, such as COVID-19?
Freedom of choice is important if we are to remain free. Mandating individuals and businesses with regards to insurance and medical leave leads to higher costs, less availability and fewer choices. People will choose to work for those who provide the best benefits which are to their liking.
Yes Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
Yes Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
Illegal immigration has costs American taxpayers untold Billions. 85% of illegal aliens access welfare usually through their children. Illegal aliens should not be eligible for any tax paid benefits. Millions of children of illegal aliens are flooding our schools costing taxpayers more billions. Illegal aliens suppress the wages of hard working Americans. It is a difficult process to become an American legally. But many work hard in order to achieve that goal.
Yes Do you support reducing military intervention in Middle East conflicts?
Unknown Position Should the United States use military force to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a weapon of mass destruction (for example: nuclear, biological, chemical)?
If the United States is threatened then we should defend ourselves. However, we should not continue to be the policeman of the world. We should encourage cooperation throughout the world. The U.S. has exacerbated much of the conflict in the Mid East. We are a sovereign nation. Other nations are sovereign as well.
No Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)?
Traditionally tariffs have been an important source of revenue to the U.S. Tariffs also serve as important ways to protect American industries and jobs. Other countries have taken advantage of America which has resulted in our industrial base being greatly reduced as well as high paying jobs.
The U.S. Constitution has been the source of our prosperity and liberty as an American nation. We must return to Constitutional principles of individual responsibility and liberty. Americans must be responsible for themselves and their families if we are to be a strong and prosperous nation again. We must protect religious liberty, free speech, the rights of assembly and petition. We must protect the right to keep and bear arms. Government is not the solution. We must remember God who blessed us with liberty.
